Map Monday: Introducing SoCal Earth

Map Monday: Introducing SoCal Earth In-Person

Event Description

Launched in fall of 2024, Robert Redford Conservancy’s SoCal Earth site is a unique online resource for environmental information and transformation in Southern California. With hundreds of maps and datasets related to environmental quality and land use, SoCal Earth invites scholars and community members to explore and visualize our environment with dynamic interactive tools and a variety of collaborative resources.

Join us for a presentation by two student fellows from Pitzer College’s RRC, Francesca Luna Mills and Luca Davis, as they share with us their experiences developing the site. Built on an ArcGIS platform and involving months of student and community efforts, this project offers an incredible demonstration of the power of collaboration to create rich information sources that will support generations of scholars to come.
