It Really is a River: Discussion & Reception

It Really is a River: Discussion & Reception In-Person

You are invited to attend an exhibition discussion for It Really is a River. Enjoy a welcome blessing from indigenous culture bearer Tina Calderon (Gabrielino Tongva/Chumash/Yoeme), followed by a panel discussion - moderated by Char Miller - about image making and the Los Angeles River with photographer Fred Kaplan, fine artist John Kosta, and public historian Tilly Hinton. There will also be opportunities to view the accompanying exhibition in the North Lobby Gallery and to peruse selected Los Angeles River archival materials in the Special Collections Reading Room.

This event is part of The People’s Archive, a collaboration between LA River X, Pomona College and The Claremont Colleges Library, with generous support from California Humanities, a non-profit partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Refreshments will be served. This event is free and open to all - no registration required!
