As a beginner in data analysis, one does not invent sophisticated models but select them from a group of candidate models. The technique to choose the correct model with less bias and full exploration of data is called cross validation. This workshop would introduce the idea behind cross validation and instruct participants on how to program cross validation in python or R with a practical example.

Prerequisite: Knowledge of programming language, particularly python or R. Use of PC is preferred as the instructor would use PC during the workshop, but Mac is also OK.
